The Office for Society in Motion explores the social implications of processes of change through design and research. Under the direction of Prof. Kurt Mehnert, the Office for Society in Motion, based in the Industrial Design faculty at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, investigates the role of design in a man-made environment and its influence on changing societies. In cooperation with the students, alternative products and systems are researched and developed, that open up different perspectives and new possibilities. This first work report documents some selected research and teaching activities of the Office for Society in Motion in recent years.
